About the developer
My name is Ayodeji Shoola and I am the developer of Fire Shift Calendar as well as a few other apps for android and IOS. I am primarily a firefighter and paramedic with app development being a passion/obsession of mine that I work on in my free time.
The story behind Fire Shift Calendar
Over 10 years ago, I had the privilege of becoming a firefighter. As our academy was coming to an end, it hit me that my day-to-day life was about to look completely different. My schedule would change, I’d be working at least one day every weekend, and I’d have to wrap my head around Kelly days, vacation blocks, random vacation days—which were totally new to me at the time.
I tried finding a shift calendar that actually worked with this new reality, but everything I tried felt clunky or limited. So I decided to build my own. Fire Shift Calendar has gone through a bunch of versions since then, and as my coding skills improved, so did the app. I’ve added more features, brought it to more platforms, and kept refining it piece by piece to serve not just fire fighters but all shift workers in general.
I’m still working on it, and I plan to keep making it better. My goal is to build something that genuinely helps you stay organized and makes your schedule easier to manage.
